Munnar – nature at its best

Kerala, the land of natural beauty full of palm trees and standing water has several hill stations, Munnar is one of them.

Located in the Western Ghats, magnificent scenic beauty of Munnar is clearly visible and is befittingly with numerous attractions. It is a destination to visit for all tourists and is very welcome.
Listed below are some of the most important attractions of Munnar:

Anayirangal: Anayirangal Dam is surrounded by Tata Tea plantations and forests of tall trees. This dam is 22 km from Munnar.

The Church of Christ – The church was consecrated in 1910 as. The exteriors have deteriorated over time, although charming interiors still have a very nice attraction. It was consecrated way back in 1910 and still has 14 rows of pews original. Mount Caramel Roman Catholic Church is the first Catholic Church in the high ranges.

Devikulam: It is 7 km from Munnar, but that gives life to a halt to discover these dense forests.
Another idyllic picnic is Sita Devi lake with a beautiful environment.

Eravikulam National Park: "It has been recognized as a National Park since 1978 and is just 20 km north of Munnar.

Top Station: Situated at 2200 m above sea level, the mountain offers great views of the valley and the neighboring state of Tamil Nadu.

Mattupetti Mother, is another important place for fun and frolic that is 10 km from Munnar, with activities like boating and horse riding and is a beautiful destination or especially when accompanied by children.

Indo-Swiss Mattupetti Farm: Also known as the cattle of the people, the Tamil refugees, once raised their cattle here. The cold and fodder that is found in large quantities makes an idyllic setting for the Indo-Swiss dairy farm.

Echo Point: Each deafening scream made this place becomes manifold by the echo of the surrounding hills.

Anamudi Pico-This peak becomes inside Eravikulam National Park. In the south of the Himalayas, this is perhaps the highest peak. The angle of the hills thrive all kinds of unique flora and fauna. Other uncommon variety of fauna found here are the Nilgiri Langur, the lion-tailed macaque, leopards, tigers, etc.

Thattekkad Bird Sanctuary: This sanctuary is located 20 km from Kothamangalam on the road between Ernakulam and Munnar.

Munnar scope:

It is 4.5 hours from Kochi. Between Kothamangalam and Adimali, you can enjoy a pleasant walk through a natural forest. You can see many cool waterfalls. Once you are in Adimali, Munnar is just an hour away. The view is beautiful during the early mornings.
